COFFYLAW announces its Social Responsibility Scholarship, offered to promising students in law, social support services, and intellectual property protection. COFFYLAW is a boutique intellectual property (IP) and business litigation firm with a strong sub practice in immigration law. We focus on helping creative innovators develop their ideas and enjoy the full protection the law allows.
Our firm’s mission is to deliver fair and ethical legal services. Agency founder and lead attorney Emmanuel Coffy, a patent-holding inventor himself, recognizes the struggles that innovators have between conception and marketability, and the importance of proper protection for intellectual property. We’ve earned our reputation as tenacious business litigators, protecting our clients’ interests in court and arbitration, especially on matters of IP infringement and misuse.
The Social Responsibility Scholarship is an extension of our own decade-long Social Responsibility Initiative, consisting of pro-bono work, continuing education, and developing young talent as attorneys and social activists of tomorrow.
Our Ideal Scholarship Candidate
COFFYLAW is looking for scholarship applicants with a strong interest in protecting intellectual property and giving back to the community. As passionate volunteers ourselves, including providing legal services free of charge to those most in need and participating in the betterment of our tristate area communities, we believe that the best candidates for the scholarship are people who have a genuine desire to give back to others.
We also respect hard work and scholastic achievement, including grades and academic accolades. Volunteer work, internships, and participation in extracurricular activities are all valued in our selection process. We also look for innovation. As experienced IP attorneys and inventors ourselves, we respect the creativity and determination to take an idea from concept to production.
Our Social Responsibility Scholarship provides a One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) award to help pay for the tuition and fees associated with earning an Associate, Bachelor’s, or Post-Graduate Degree. By supporting future lawyers, social advocates, and intellectual property creators, we hope to contribute to a community of dedicated, like-minded professionals.
